An exotic rainforest in Swansea!
A puffer fish, a red rainbow fish, a Chinese water dragon and a Californian King snake are among the new creatures now mesmerising visitors to the re-opened Plantasia.
The creatures have been introduced for 2011 after the attraction's annual closure for maintenance works earlier this month.
A tropical hut similar to those lived in by the Native Indian tribes of the rainforest is also being constructed at Plantasia and will soon open to the public.
The hut will be made of materials like reed and bamboo and will include artefacts including traditional hammocks, jewellery and baskets.
Amazonian creatures such as piranhas, poison arrow frogs, scorpions and cockroaches are already housed at Plantasia.
Some of the artefacts in the hut will include items brought back from Ecuador by Plantasia Projects Officer Maria Bowen.
Maria has spent time in the Amazon area in the past and met up with people from the Waroni and Shuar tribes.
The hut will include traditional furniture and information on how indigenous people make the most of the array of plants found in the rainforest.
Plantasia typically welcomes about 10,000 visitors a month.
